General Notes Because of the way they are put together, expansion bands (flexible metal watch bands) are unique in that they usually don't require a clasp of any kind and can be removed and put on easily.
ROWI have long been at the forefront of metal expansion watch bands with their Fixoflex-Watch Bands, and stand for innovation in quality from Germany. The watch bands are extremely hard wearing and robust.
Expansion bands can generally be shortened or lengthened. In order to do this then individual links must be removed or added in the amount required.
The method shown below is not suitable for standard metal watch bands.
- Shortening Fixoflex, Fixoflex S, Fixoflex 2000 and similar watch bands
1. Please pull out- with the band extended - a U-shaped hook (U-Bow) from the side of the band, carefully avoiding not to twist it. A special band shortening pair of pliers might be helpful here.
2. Separate the watch band by sliding sideways. It is advantageous to separate the watch band by pushing in such a way that a U-bow remains in the upper part of the watch band‘s link.
3. Put together by completing steps 1 and 2 in reverse order: connect the shortened or lengthened halves of the watch band together by inserting the loose U-bow. Ensure that every U-bow clicks into place.
